The Story of The Banubees
Banubees originated in the land of Zartra. At the age of ten, Banubees are given a mask as a sign of becoming a man or a woman or the end of their youth. The second they put on the mask, Banubees have responsibilities and have to face actual consequences in the world. At the age of ten, these creatures are sent off into the wild to fight the giant Greendulfs and come back to their town with their head. This is to prove their worth to their society. These Greendulfs are massive creatures with green skin and lower teeth coming up to their eyes. They are somewhat dumb but extremely strong. The Banubees and Greendulfs have conflicted for thousands of years. Nevertheless, bringing the head of these massive creatures at the age of ten is especially hard as Benubees are relatively small creatures. To be able to see higher, their giraffe-sized necks make up for the lack of height. They normally use their necks to wrap around the Greendulfs legs making them trip over and fall to their advantage. On a more positive note, throughout many years Banubees have had a tradition where the day that a Banubee has put on their mask is the day of celebration, one can say it’s like a second birthday. They dance by intertwining their necks with others and synchronized hoping. These masks are never taken off. The dirtier, and broken-in mask a Banubee has the more respected they are. It’s a symbolic statement of wiseness and experience. These eight Banubees are one of eight Banubee clans from the land of Zartra. They are one of the oldest of their clan making them around 148 years old. They have seen battles, they have witnessed shame, they have eaten victories, and they have experienced love.
